Bistro & Wine at Veitkopis

A contemporary bistro built around seasonal plates and a considered Australian wine list.

At Veitkopis, the kitchen and the wine list work hand in hand. The cooking is modern and seasonal, designed for sharing and made to pair — whether that’s a crisp glass with a plate of something charred, or a fuller red alongside slow-cooked beef.

Cooking with the seasons

Our menu shifts through the year with South Australian produce leading the way. Lighter, brighter plates in the warmer months; richer, slower dishes as the weather cools. It means the menu below is a guide to the style of food we serve rather than a fixed list — ask your waiter what’s on this week.

How to eat here

Most guests build a table from several plates. A couple of small dishes to start, something from the grill to share, a side or two, and a wine to carry it. There’s no wrong way to do it.

Building a shared table

If you’d rather graze than order a single main, our small and sharing plates are made for it. Mix a few together and you’ve got a generous table for two to four.

  • Charred and roasted vegetable plates
  • Cheese, bread and house accompaniments
  • Smaller meat and fish plates
  • Whatever the kitchen has run as a seasonal special

Let us know how hungry you are and we’ll help you build the right spread.

Drinks

We ask guests to enjoy alcohol responsibly, and there’s always a considered non-alcoholic option for anyone who’d prefer one.

The wine list

Our list favours Australian wine, with plenty from South Australia, organised into easy styles rather than a long index. Ask for a recommendation — we’re happy to point you toward something that suits your table.
